PHASE 1 · LOCK THE DATES
Day rate + kit fee
$400 a day, plus $175 a day for the kit, plus $75 flat insurance per shoot. The flat cost of a set that isn’t gambling on sound.
50% to hold
Dates book at least two months out. 50% holds your dates on my calendar; nothing else does.
Insurance + travel
Production insures the kit. DMV local; travel negotiated.
PHASE 2 · ON SET
The day
10-hour day. Overtime at time-and-a-half.
The kit
MixPre-10 II and MKH-416, with dual-redundant Lectrosonics wireless: a dead battery on set costs you nothing.
CANCELLATION: free until 12 hours before call time. Inside 12 hours, the deposit is kept. Date changes work the same way.
AFTER THE SHOOT · CREDIT
On-screen + IMDb credit as Production Sound Mixer.
